I met them earlier this year and when they called to say they wanted to celebrate their anniversary at the Outside Inn I asked if they wanted to share their Nevada City experience. Below is their post, “We Heart Nevada City.”
Today is our 1 year wedding anniversary! We spent the weekend relaxing in Nevada City to enjoy the beautiful weather, stunning art, brilliant wines and deeply satisfying locally brewed beers. We first arrived on Friday evening at the Outside Inn. This ultra charming local hotel … Read More »
This year’s Soroptimist International Garden Tour was a amazing collection of special outdoor spaces through out Nevada County. The gardens ranged from natural no watering flower beds to beautifully manicured lawns and bushes that have matured over the past 50 years. Most featured waterfalls, ponds, or small pools. Some had spectacular yard art and others let the brilliant rhododendrons do the talking. What a treat to be able to see so many different areas of the county and how special each one was. Hat’s off to the organizers of the Soroptimist International Garden Tour for picking such unique places to visit and a special thanks to the homeowners who participated and did so much work for all of us to see.
And the winner of the fabulous gardening goodies from Peaceful Valley Farm & Garden Supply goes to Veronica Flores. … Read More »

This is the time of year you see those plastic boats tied to the top of trucks driving up and down Hwy 49. The runoff is happening and the rivers are running. We are surounded by white water living here in Nevada City. Here is what we landlubbers are missing on the South Fork of the Yuba and the North Fork of the American Rivers.
