First Friday Art Walk

Larisa Simmons, Cynthia Levesque, Earles of NewtownFirst Firday Art Walk is a monthly downtown Nevada City event that celebrates the arts and downtown shops.  Organized by Cynthia Levesque, owner of Neva Co Artisan Boutique, this month’s event was a Circus Theme.  So in addition to artist receptions, live music, crafts for the kids there were fire throwers, a strong man competition and the fabulous Larisa walking all over town on stilts.  What I love about this event is every month I’m reminded by how amazing our community is, whether it’s getting an opportunity to check out a shop I’ve been meaning to go into, or having a glass of wine with a friend while checking out new art work or simply running into old friends.  So three cheers for reason #7583796487 I love Nevada City!  If you’ve missed any of the previous First Friday Art Walks check out June, July, August or September’s blog posts.  Who’s excited about the Day of the Dead First Friday Art Walk next month?

Love the night shot of the accordian player! Our last minute decision to stop in at Pete’s to grab a slice was very much enjoyed and “desert” at Clavey’s was yummy too!

Fantastic pics as always! Thanks for sharing… it makes me feel like I got to walk around instead of being in the gallery all night. Love the stripey-legged stilt walker!
