Nevada City Mardi Gras Parade

Samba Drop at Nevada City Mardi Gras ParadeNevada City Mardi Gras parade is always a colorful event.  Thanks to the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce for organizing the parade.  Great to see Samba Drop, NEO, Nevada City Soapbox Derby, Curious Forge, Claude the fire-breathing dragon, the Mardi Gras King & Queen (Paul Emery and Gretchen Bond), Merry Widow Society, to name a few, out on the streets celebrating our small town joy.   I loved the festive masks, bright beads and watching people enjoying the beautiful afternoon. For blog posts from previous years check out the blog: Mardi Gras 2014, Mardi Gras 2013, Mardi Gras 2012, Mardi Gras 2011.  What’s your favorite part of the Mardi Gras weekend?

I love it when the weather is good so we can walk into Nevada City and enjoy the parade. It was fun this year – lots of great rhythms and costumes!
