Ewing Ventures has brought the rock musical play Next to Normal from Broadway to Nevada City.  The show opened last night and runs this weekend through June 24th with performances Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  An all star cast of Jed Dixon, Bevin Bell-Hall and Kendra Scott provide emotionally raw performances while musical director Jerry Grant kept an upbeat tune.  Tickets can be purchased online or at the Nevada City Box Office.  The Outside Inn blog has a special giveaway for 2 lucky readers, we’ve got 2 free tickets to Thursady, May 31st’s 7pm show.  Post a comment on this blog post about your favorite play or musical and we’ll draw a winner on Monday, May 28th.  And since getting a night out on the town is always fun we’ve decided if you’d like to come stay at the Outside Inn after the play, we’ll offer a special discount of 20% off your stay (*space available for May 31st) for our lucky winner.

This is the best play I have EVER produced! Hope everyone sees it. We have teamed up with the Mike Bratton 2 Foundation and Anew Day to support their efforts towards serving the community during May which is Mental Health Awareness Month.

How kind of you to give away tix to this performance! I love the culture we’ve had access to here!

The play that stands out as one of the more rollicking good times was Foothill Theater Co’s production of Noises Off. I hurt from laughing so hard in that one.
