Pine Street Burgers

Grass Valley Eating Out, South Pine BurgerFresh grass fed burgers, salads and shakes, the South Pine Cafe family has expanded to bring Grass Valley Pine Street Burgers.  Located in the Holiday Shopping Center next to KNCO (on the corner of Dorsey Drive and E. Main Street), the burger place was hopping when we stopped in for lunch.  Word has definitely gotten out that this is a place to try, whether you want a blue cheese bacon burger, the vegetarian nut burger, a speciality hot dog, pesto fries or a chocolate milk shake.  The restaurant is open 7 days a week, check their Facebook page for hours and specials.  Suzie and George would like to offer one Outside Inn blog reader a gift certificate for a free burger and a shake, please post a comment on this blog post on what’d you’d like to eat at Pine Street Burgers and I’ll draw the winner on Friday, September 6th.  The winner of the New Room Breads share is Kira.Grass Valley Restaurants, Burgers, Shakes, Salads

  1. I have tried it…I’m not often a burger eater; however, I’ve been dreaming about them ever since I had one. Pine Street is doing burgers and fries right! I’m having the blue cheese bacon burger tonight!

  2. Hot dogs as yummy as ever I had to get my fix as soon as they reopened, I had the garlic fries also and they were very tasty. Next visit a burger for sure. Pine Street is fast food at it’s best….just as quick to go there rather then one of the “chain” burger places. Yum!

  3. My son and I went and had burgers. Yummy. Would love to go back to try some other items. So glad they have Casper dogs. I grew up on those. And, since I am having a baby on the 5th, I could use that gc to refuel after popping a baby out!

  4. We went there already and it was amazing! The burger tasted just like the grass fed ones we make at home- all juicy and tender. And they had dairy free (coconut) milkshakes! First one I’ve had in a long time.

  5. I haven’t been there yet, I didn’t even know Julies wasn’t there any longer. I LOVE that they use free range chickens (pastured would be even better!) Do you know if they use grass fed or pastured beef? I would love to try a burger and pesto fries <- ummm yum! I will make it a point to head over there soon, thanks Erin!

  6. I can’t wait to give them a try. Erin that’s what I love about your blogg otherwise it could have been months before I found them esp. at that location where I rarely ever go. I’m going this week for sure.

    A chipolte burger
    A Greek burger
    A classic blue cheese burger
    Grass fed beef
    Great fries

  7. I had the smoldering pine burger, and it was delicious! Oh, and their sweet potato fries are the BEST! Can’t wait to go back.

  8. Love the pictures! Being a vegetarian, I’ll have to try the nut burger. I’m always searching for the best veggie burger. Yum.

  9. I went the day they opened! Loved the veggi burger – surprisingly yummy! So nice to have this kind of comfort food be of the same high quality as Suzie and George have served us at both South Pines. Yay!

  10. Have heard nothing but great things about the burgers. High school kids have been flocking to it!! Great new eating addition to our town.

  11. Whoo-whoo! We’re headed to Nevada City/Grass Valley from WA next week staying at Outside Inn and we love the cafe for breakfast each morning, so will be SURE to try the new Pine Street burgers. Burgers and olallaberries! Yes!

  12. I went for the first time on Wednesday and had a basic burger with cheese and a chocolate shake. It is hands-down my new favorite burger. I think next time I’ll be daring and try the habanero burger. I’ll definitely be getting another shake to help tame the heat.

And for anyone wondering, Julie’s didn’t go out of business. It just morphed into Pine Street Burgers. Suzie and George were the owners of Julie’s. So all your favorite Julie’s hot dog creations are still there.

  13. I’ve had their chicken sandwich, garlic and onion burger, regular fries and sweet potato fries. Very tasty! The husband was happy as a clam with his blue cheese burger and mushroom burger.

  14. Would love to try the hatch chili burger they have on special this week! LOVE LOVE LOVE their coconut bliss dairy free shakes!

  15. I’ve already been! The Asian Chicken salad is excellent, and so is their Swiss & Mushroom Burger! The next thing I want to try is one of their wraps… Turkey Pesto sounds great!

  16. I’ve been at least once or twice a week since they’ve opened (if not more!). It’s fabulous! I’ve had their bacon and blue, chicken with brie, and their basic with grilled onions and cheese. All these with fries w/ home-made ketchup, and a chocolate shake or soda make for a perfect lunch or dinner! My family loves it – this is definitely our new favorite “burger joint” and the perfect place to go before a movie.

  17. This vegetarian is very excited about a great new nutburger in town! And since I love South Pine Cafe, I know I will love Pine Street Burgers!

  18. Loved the Blue Cheese Bacon burger and garlic fries I had the other day on my first visit. Want to try some of the salads and other choices including the sweet potato fries. Habanero salsa was tasty too (tho I like it hotter!),

  19. Oh this sounds great and the fact that you are South Pine all the BETTER!! We love South Pine, it is the only place in Grass Valley or Nevada City we will go for Breakfast!! Keep up the great work and looking forward to trying out the new burgers, I love a GOOD burger. Dawn :-)
