Mountain Pastimes, located on Spring Street in downtown Nevada City, has been selling toys, magic tricks and puzzles for 22 years.  There’s something for everyone, with toys for toddlers, games for kids age 6 and up and magic tricks for the ageless magician.  Stop by in the afternoons or on weekends and see the magicians work their magic, they’ve always got a few tricks up their sleeves.  Kathy Hills, owner of Mountain Pastimes, also invites people to bring a sandwich and use their back patio or the handicap accessible bathroom.  My favorite “toy” is the fabulous orchestrion, which plays 40 different instruments, nickles are on the house, just ask one of the staff members.
