Ultimate Nevada City Giveaway

The ultimate Nevada City giveaway… I’ve decided that I’ve had so much fun on the blog this year, that why not end the year by going big.  We live in the an amazing community and I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing a slice of our world, so I wanted to give one big huge thanks to all the folks who I’ve promoted, plugged, photographed and gotten to know over the last year.  My basket started with a few left over goodies from previous giveaways and took on a life of its own…  It’s now turned into the ultimate Nevada City weekend.  I’ve got photos of all the goodies in the baskets below, but here’s a breakdown of what’s included.

One night stay at the Outside Inn
$30 gift certificate to Ike’s Quarter Cafe

A Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) Procession took place this evening in downtown Nevada City.  Cynthia Levesque, of Neva Co, organized the event as a way for locals to take part in the Mexican celebration that honors friends and loved ones who have passed away.  The procession started at the Outside Inn and walked down Broad Street to a temporary altar in Callanhan Park.  If you missed tonight’s procession but still want to learn more about Day of the Dead, there’s still time to visit the annual Altar Show at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, click here for additional information.

Neva Co Artisan Boutique in downtown Nevada City Sugar Skull making class was so successful that they’ve recently added additional classes.  Limited space available, but RSVP online and save $3 on the $15 class.  My research assistants loved getting messy and learning a bit of history about the Day of the Dead Altars.  Thanks Cynthia for a great class, our Sugar Skulls are going into the infamous Nevada City haunted house to be enjoyed by the masses.  If you missed our pre-ski season giveaway, click here.
