Posted on November 23rd, by erin in Art, Nevada City. No Comments

Did you make it the annual Nevada City Artisan Festival at the Miners Foundry?  Artist ranged from paintings, photography, textiles, pottery, jewelry, glass works and more.  The festival continues Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm, admission is $3, children under 16 are free.  Photos today capture some of the work by Sweetland Pottery, Zen Vase, Pottery Texture Queen, Kris Johnson, Fine by Design Custom Jewelry, Summer Thompson, Karel Hendee, Eileen Blodgett, Liz Collins, Kathryn Wronski and LeeAnn Brook.  I had the chance to have a nice chat with Nancy Nelson, of Nevada County Arts, who says now is a great time to become a member and help support the thriving art community in Nevada County.

Sierra Vintners Wine Trail

Interested in learning more about Nevada County wines?  The Sierra Vintners Wine Trail is a two day event, June 2nd and 3rd that really allows visitors to get to know the wine in the region. Fifteen different wineries throughout the area welcome new visitors to come and sample wines, food and come have a chat with the winemakers.

Jack Starr mixing up some possible options of Jack’s blend at Sierra Starr Vineyard in their barrel room.  The newly constructed wine making facility has some great features, so while most of Sierra Starr tastings happen at their downtown Grass Valley tasting room, this event is a great opportunity to explore the new facility.  Make sure you ask Phil for a tour and Anne for a wine club membership form while chilling on the lawn listening to the Star People.
