Sierra Vintners Wine Trail
Interested in learning more about Nevada County wines? The Sierra Vintners Wine Trail is a two day event, June 2nd and 3rd that really allows visitors to get to know the wine in the region. Fifteen different wineries throughout the area welcome new visitors to come and sample wines, food and come have a chat with the winemakers.
Jack Starr mixing up some possible options of Jack’s blend at Sierra Starr Vineyard in their barrel room. The newly constructed wine making facility has some great features, so while most of Sierra Starr tastings happen at their downtown Grass Valley tasting room, this event is a great opportunity to explore the new facility. Make sure you ask Phil for a tour and Anne for a wine club membership form while chilling on the lawn listening to the Star People.

Foothills Celebration
The streets of downtown Grass Valley were packed with wine and food enthusasiasts today for the Foothills Celebration. The event organized by the Grass Valley Downtown Association and the Sierra Vintners brought together 50 wineries and restaurants. I swaped my food coupons for coffee rubbed tri-tip at Carolines Coffee Roasters, Sweet Petites port infused cupcakes, Diego’s Anticuco’s, Smiley Guys BBQ and The Owl Billy Bleu Bread. Many fabulous local and nearby vineyards were represented throughout downtown Grass Valley, tucked inside restaurants, coffee shops, casinos and shops.
