The Artist Workshop in downtown Grass Valley is a great place to take the kids and get creative.  I’ve talked about them on the Outside Inn blog before (here, here,  here and here), but today I had the pleasure of teaching a Kids Valentine’s Day Workshop.  The kids did a great job of creating some unique handmade Valentine’s Day cards for their classmates.  Click here for Margo’s schedule of upcoming classes and workshops.

For a small community we’ve got a lot of talented artists and a number of places to go and enjoy seeing and creating art.  The weather turned a bit today and we decided to take a tour of some art galleries in Grass Valley.   We started our art tour at ASiF Artists Studio in the Foothills, where the Smallworks Holiday Show is now open Tuesdays through Saturdays 11-4 until January 5th.  Over 1000 pieces by 80 talented artists are on display, and available for purchase, so if you are looking for a small piece of art to give this holiday season you might just find it at ASiF.

Nevada City Craft Fair at Miner’s Foundry in downtown Nevada City, showcasing local artists, Etsy vendors and talented artisans.  A few snapshops from today’s event, doors are open till 8pm.  Above Cynthia Levesque showcases some of the jewelry she sells at her shop NEVA Co.  Click here for a post on her shop, if you missed today’s event you can always support local artisans on Broad Street Wednesday through Monday.

The Artist Workshop is a creative space for families in downtown Grass Valley.  (Click here to read the post about their grand opening last year).  The Artist Workshop recently expanded their class schedule to include adult classes and started with a fun Ladies Night out cardmaking class with Jenyfur Pohl.  Classes will be suitable for all levels, so bring a friend, a treat to share and join the fun.
