Nevada County and Yuba Seasons Calendars

David McKay Photography has just released the new 2014 calendars with images from Nevada City and Grass Valley.  The Seasons of Nevada County calendar captures the Nevada County Fair, Empire Mine, Malakoff Diggins as well as spring, fall and winter nature scenes.  The Yuba Seasons calendar has images from the Wild & Scenic South Yuba River.  If you’re looking for a great holiday gift to celebrate the local color of community pick up the new calendar, priced at only $14.95.  The calendars are available for sale at the Outside Inn, SPD (both Nevada City and Grass Valley), Briar Patch Co-op, Ben Franklin, J.J. Jackson’s, The Bookseller, The Earth Store, B&C, Williams Stationery and Walker’s Office Supplies.  Would you like to win a calendar?  The Outside Inn’s blog as one calendar to give away (your choice on which one, and yes, I will mail you the calendar if you live outside of Nevada City), please post a comment on this blog on your favorite Nevada County season and I’ll draw the winner on Friday, November 15th.

    I’m a late spring/early summer kind of gal …
love the green, the poppies, the lush buds of growth on the oaks .. the river flows, the sunny ski days … the lengthening days …

My favorite – September. Long, warm days that are still great for a dip in the river, a long bike ride to Malakoff Diggins, or a hike to Rush Creek Falls… but outside the craziness of full-bore summer. (But all the seasons are great!)

I’d have to say those wonderful winter snow days! Just enough to close school and do some sledding, but not so much that you need to shovel your driveway. 😉

Normally, I would say Winter because until this September that had been the only season I had been there. But, ahhhh….early September! It was beautiful…bike rides, long days, shorts, and the beautiful river. I think I need to try spring and fall for a definitive!

I love fall up here – especially before it starts to rain. The colors are usually fabulous and I like the crispness in the air in the mornings.
