Need your fix of fresh veggies? While the Nevada City Farmers Market and Nevada County Growers Market are about to end their seasons, Mountain Bounty Farm has just started their Winter CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share. Today’s box includes carrots, dino kale, persimmons, onions, yellow carrots, garlic, batavian crisp, mixed sweet pepper and spinach. If you’re interested in more information on their winter fruit or veggie share, click here. And if you’re thinking of gardening our friends at Peaceful Valley Farm and Garden Supply have some great resources for winter gardening, click here for a video on how to dehydrate food. If you’ve got a persimmons tree feel free to drop off some extra fruit in the Outside Inn’s free veggie cart, we’re just about ready to wrap up the 2013 season, check out the Peaceful Valley Facebook page for a great recipe on what to do with your extra fruit. The Outside Inn blog is excited to have one Mountain Bounty Farm vegetable CSA box to giveaway* and a Peaceful Valley Vegetable Peeler. Post a comment on here about your favorite winter vegetable and I’ll draw a winner on Thanksgiving.
*Giveaway valid for new Mountain Bounty subscribers only, must pick up box in Nevada City before February 1st.
