Nevada City Craft Fair at the Miners Foundry is a great way to support artists, do some holiday shopping and browse a great selection of handmade goodies. The bi-annual event started in 2010 (click here, here, here, here and here for previous Craft Fair events). So whether you were buying pottery, jewelry, vintage clothing, sweet treats, totes, paper goods or herbal remedies there was something for everyone. Or perhaps you just fueled up on Fable Coffee and visited with friends? While I didn’t manage to capture all the vendors (check out the Nevada City Craft Fair’s Facebook page for vendor spotlights) I did photograph a number of them. Included in this post are photos of: Rukus, Aquarian Dawn Haunted Threads, Green Light Restortation, Scumugs, Dandelion and Co, Marty May Press & Stitchery, Eko Kreations, Lord Von Schmitt, Bellabellota, Sleeping Phoenix, Pickle Pottery, Mud and Pearls, Eye of the Avocado, Hand Maiden Collective, Cello Chocolate, Sweet Grass General Store, Graphic Anthology and Claire Ray Art.
“We started the event four years ago as a group of local artists inspired by the independent entrepreneurship and creative talents of those around us. We do emphasize that it is the premiere event to see and purchase handmade items from local and regional artists and makers because it is. The craft fair is so wonderfully unique that after four years and eight craft fairs later it continues to grow and support local artists by providing a platform that raises awareness about the young DIY crafters and artists in our community and helps them sell their wares, while also networking and building connections with other like-minded communities that can hopefully help to expand their business. It is also hosted at the Miners Foundry, a historic building which was built by hand from local timber and stone. We are pretty lucky to have such a cool event in our community!” said co-founder Jesse Locks.
